Picpoul de Pinet, Domaine de Morin-Langaran £20.45
Coteaux du Languedoc
Picpoul or Piquepoul is a fascinating little grape variety that comfortably thrives in its homeland of the Basin de Thau (although it is still one of the permitted white varieties in the Chateauneuf du Pape rouge) producing the Languedoc’s answer. Bright and scintillatingly dry and fruity…a true breath of fresh, Occitan air!
Viognier, Y Series £23.45
On the nose there are aromas of fresh ginger and candied grapefruit with hints of white flowers. The palate is full-bodied with grapefruit and apricot flavours, and displays a persistent finish, matched with typical silky and harmonious Viognier texture.
Fiano, Masseria Bianca, Salento £19.45
A lot more interesting than most Pinot Grigios, bursting with stone fruit and nutty, herbal aromas – juicy and mouth filling with a crisp, elegant finish.
Luberon Rose, Perrin, Southern Rhone £20.45
Made by Perrin of the famous Chateauneuf du Pape estate, Chateau de Beaucastel. A classic, medium bodied Carignan/Cinsault blend showing good colour with lively cherry and strawberry fruit characters with a clean, fresh palate.
Minervois, Chateau Moureau £20.45
50% Syrah, 30% Carignan and 20% Grenache – a 45ha property in the ‘Haut Minervois’ producing fabulous Carignan on which to lsy the gutsy foundations for deeply-coloured, polished wines oozing plummy and dark fruits with savoury and dusty herbal notes
